“Disgusting”: MPP Gretzky slams Ford and his politicians for using IPV committee to fundraise for own gain

WINDSOR – MPP Lisa Gretzky (Windsor West) put out the following statement after Ford’s politicians were found using the Intimate Partner Violence committee for partisan fundraising:

“Every time I think I’ve seen it all, I get shocked again.

“Earlier this year, Doug Ford and his politicians played legislative games with our bill to declare Intimate Partner Violence an epidemic in Ontario. If they listened to survivors earlier, we could’ve declared an epidemic immediately and gotten to work.

“Instead of supporting survivors or funding the organizations that desperately need resources – Doug Ford and his politicians are playing another game and using an issue they’ve repeatedly refused to take seriously as a reason to fundraise for their party. With them, it’s never about you - it’s about lining their own pockets.

It’s disgusting. But not surprising.”
